Dave Kube

Assistant Professor

Graphic Design

Dave Kube earned his MFA in Photography from Tyler School of Art in 2009 and his BA in Digital Media from the University of Illinois Springfield in 2007. Kube’s work questions how identity is placed upon gay men and their reactions to this often socially stigmatized counter-culture. He explores personal experiences as well as experiences that fall within the inherent scope of living as a gay man. Kube approaches and creates work in many ways, but often uses humor and/or personal situations to work as a gateway to larger and more serious issues or perspectives that affect him. He creates work that is, at its core, influenced by his experiences within the gay community but often speaks in a more universal way as a means to draw comparisons to the rest of society.
