Dr. Christine Sperling is an art historian who specializes in the art of the Italian Renaissance. She received her Ph.D. from Brown University and has been the recipient of a number of grants, including a Fulbright and a year-long grant to study at Harvard University’s Center for Italian Renaissance Studies at Villa I Tatti in Florence, Italy. She publishes and speaks on her scholarship on epigraphy and the progress of the antique revival during the Italian Renaissance. She travels frequently to Italy to conduct research and has shared her knowledge of Italian art and culture with many students on study trips abroad.
