Lisa von Koch

Interim Professor

Lisa Corine von Koch received her B.F.A. in Painting and Drawing from the University of Utah in 2005, and her M.F.A. in Painting and Drawing from Arizona State University in 2009. She has taught courses in Drawing, Life Drawing, 2D and 3D Design and Color Theory at Arizona State University and at Phoenix College and Mesa Community College.  Her personal practice has expanded to include sculpture, performance and installation in the interest of incorporating ecological practices into art making.

"My work deals with the intersection of nature and culture. As an artist and an environmentalist, I must constantly negotiate a compromise between content and material use.  I am interested in exploring this tension in order to determine where boundaries are, to seek material histories, and to discover new solutions for each work."
