Living and Learning Communities

Columbia Residence HallA living and learning community (LLC) is a group of students who share common academic interests, live together in a residence hall, participate in activities together and are also enrolled in a cluster of related courses.

Since its inception in 1996, Living and Learning Programs at Bloomsburg University have been a forum for the exchange of ideas and information within a residential setting, providing out-of-class interaction between students and their faculty and supporting their academic endeavors. Through the years these Communities have fostered a collaborative atmosphere for faculty and students to construct new understanding and innovative strategies for integrating the in and out-of-classroom experience.

Bloomsburg University currently has nine Living and Learning Communities, including one that is related to the College of Education.

The Education Living Learning Community, part of Columbia Residence Hall, connects students to their educational curricula and faculty, enriching students' educational experience. Since it's inception, the Education LLC supports students through mentorship, social/communication activities, and guidance.
