Communication Studies Organizations Forensics National Communication Association Student Chapter Toastmasters Theatre Organizations Bloomsburg_Players
Participants may earn up to one credit per year by taking 25.108 Forensics Practicum. Students from all majors are welcome to join the forensics team to improve their self-confidence, competence in research, knowledge of current events, appreciation of literature, and public presentation skills. National Communication Association Student Chapter (NCASC) Many of our majors join the National Communication Association Student Chapter (NCASC). NCA is the national professional organization for communication scholars and individuals whose jobs or career goals are related to communication. The student chapter here at B.U. offers monthly meetings that feature professionals who discuss topics such as interviewing, internships, résumé writing, career development, and graduate school. The chapter at Bloomsburg University of this international organization is for students, faculty, staff, and members of the local community. Toastmasters provides a wonderful way to improve communication skills. Toastmasters can help people lose the fear of public speaking and learn skills that will help them be more successful in whatever path they have chosen. Toastmasters helps people become better listeners, teaches how to lead teams and conduct meetings, and how to comfortably give and receive constructive evaluation. The Bloomsburg Players is the theatre division's cocurricular production and support organization. Membership includes majors and minors, students with professional ambition, as well as those who share a love of the art and process of theatre.
