Dr. Terry Riley
Professor of English

Dr. Riley attended the University of Michgan as an undergraduate, taking a major in Philosophy.  His Ph.D. in English is from Michigan State University, with a primary concentration in British Romanticism.  Since graduate school, his interests have broadened to include the whole of the "long 19th century," i.e., the art and philosophy of Great Britain from about 1750 through World War I.  Another large part of his career has been English pedagogy; he came to Bloomsburg in 1990 to direct the Writing Center and remained in that position for twelve years.
