A. G. "Jerry" Wemple
Professor of English/Creative Writing/Acting Chair Summer 2012 from May 28-June 29.

Jerry Wemple received his MFA from University of Massachusetts-Amherst and is the author of two collections of poetry: The Civil War in Baltimore and You Can See It from Here,which won the Naomi Long Madgett Poetry Award.  He is also co-editor of Common Wealth: Contemporary Poets on Pennsylvania, published by Penn State Press, and editor of Watershed: The Journal of the Susquehanna. His poetry, creative nonfiction, and reviews have appeared in numerous journals and anthologies.

Teaching and Research Interests
Primary interests include poetry and creative nonfiction, as well as literature about Pennsylvania and African American life in rural Pennsylvania. Professor Wemple is also the director of the Bloomsburg University Minor in Ethnic Studies program. He is also on the board of directors of the local poetry fesitval.
