Student Organizations
The Department of History at Bloomsburg University has two very active student organizations. Our local chapter of the national history honor society (Phi Alpha Theta) and our History Club meet together regularly and sponsor a variety of events. The purpose of this site is to inform you of upcoming meetings or events, as well as provide a list of the current officers for both the History Club and Phi Alpha Theta.
The History Club and Phi Alpha Theta at Bloomsburg University participate in a variety of activities. In the fall, the students take on the History Department faculty members in a softball game. The club hosts trips to various places in the area, as well as cooks meals once or twice a semester at the Danville branch of the Ronald McDonald House. There is also a History Club/Phi Alpha Theta banquet every year during the spring semester to recognize the group and other students’ achievements. History Club and Phi Alpha Theta is a great place to meet with people who share a common love for history. Everyone is welcome - even non-History majors! We are always looking for different ideas about how to make the History Club and Phi Alpha Theta better!
General Meetings are Tuesdays at 5:30pm in Old Science, Room 135. Come to the History Department office or contact a member or advisor to add your name and email address to our contact list!
Meetings will be held for officers on Tuesdays at 5:00pm in Old Science, Room 135 prior to the general meeting.
