Director's Welcome

Hi. My name is Emeric Schultz and I am the director of the Bloomsburg University Honors Program. We are very proud of our Program and the students in it. I will let our current students and our graduates speak for the program through the pages of this website. If you are interested in an Honors education here are some of the things I think you should be looking for:
A program that has a set of standards that are challenging and that you would be proud to aspire to.
-
A program that has flexibility in terms of its requirements – it is sometimes difficult in 4 years to both navigate a major and also to do Honors.
-
A program that has a lot of “added value” in terms of learning experiences such as opportunities for overseas study.
-
A program that offers you the possibility of independent study and research in your junior and senior year – this can put a special touch on your undergraduate experience.
-
A program that has an up to the date website that tells you what is happening in the program – this lets you know that it is an active program.
Now go and surf our site and then go to other Honors Program sites and see what those are like.
We endeavor to be constantly improving the quality of our program. Whereas a director and honors faculty give form and direction to a program, and the university supports our program strongly, the ultimate measure of quality in Honors education is the involvement, activity and productivity of the students in the Program. If you are interested in Honors education, I hope you will take a closer look at us. You can contact me by phone at 570-389-4713 or by email at eschultz@bloomu.edu. We can also very easily set up a visit for you.
I am also a member of the BU faculty. I teach chemistry and biochemistry. If you want to get an idea of the level of my commitment to teaching you can check out my website by clicking on this link:
