Summer 2014 Honors Study Abroad Program

The Canadian Maritimes: Geological Wonders Living From the Land and Sea

The Summer 2014 Honors Study Abroad Program will be sponsored by Mansfield University. Students will explore the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. This multi-disciplinary program will focus on the geological history of the region which spans more than 1.2 billion years and will also explore food sustainability in an environment which utilizes localized resources from both the land and sea. Following an orientation at Mansfield University, students will visit multiple locations including the Bay of Fundy region, Halifax, Lunenburg, Antigonish, Cape Breton Island, and the Fortress of Louisbourg.

The two Honors classes will be:
Past, Present, and Future Sustainability of Canadian Maritimes People
Tides, People, and Cultural Landscapes
