BOLT Workshops - Andruss Library 243

The Instructional Media and Design Center will be offering BOLT workshops beginning May 12th. We will also be offering workshops later in the Summer for those of you who are not teaching until the Fall semester.

Registration for Workshops

Registration for workshops will be completed online. Please fill out the form on the right side of the page to register for the workshops. Please be sure to fill out the form completely and then click the Submit button. If you make a mistake, please click the 'Reset' button. You will then need to fill in the form again and click Submit. You should get a confirmation email once you have successfully registered for the workshops. If you have already registered and need to make a change, please email Julie Wolfe.

Workshop Descriptions

BOLT: Content, News Item, Classlist
May 12th 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM in AL 243

 

You will learn how to add News Items to notify students of important events, assignments, etc. The Content area of BOLT allows you to share resources with your students. You will learn how to add modules and the four options for adding course materials as topics. The Classlist tool is a central area for managing information about your students. You’ll learn how to email students and view user progress. Please register on the right side of the page.

BOLT: Dropbox & Turnitin
May 16th 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM in AL 243

 

Tired of receiving student assignments via email, keeping track of the submissions, or having problems with the attachments? You’ll learn how to set up the dropbox area for your students to submit files, view those files and provide feedback. Setting up plagiarism detection will also be covered. BOLT: Quizzes
May 17th 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM in AL 243

 

This workshop will start with creating questions in the Question Library of BOLT. Once the questions are created, you will create a quiz and select a variety of administrative settings. Finally, you will preview the quiz as if a student. Please register on the right side of the page.

BOLT: Discussions
May 17th 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM in AL 243

 

Discussions are a powerful tool in learning and can carry over from a class discussion that simply ran out of time because class ended.  You will learn how to set up a discussion forum and add topics for students to participate. Please register on the right side of the page.

BOLT: Grades – Point System
May 18th 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM in AL 243

 

Students like to see immediate feedback and results. The BOLT Grades feature allows for multiple display options and feedback. If you use a Point-based grading scale, then attend this workshop on setting up a point grades system in BOLT. Bring your syllabus with you. Please register on the right side of the page.
