To apply in a study abroad program, you must fill the following requirements:
- Enrolled as a full-time student
- A sophomore or junior class standing
- Good academic standing with Bloomsburg University
- Most institutions require a GPA of 2.5 or above
Application Instructions:
- Schedule an appointment with Donna Murphy, the Assistant to the Director of International Education. You may contact Mrs. Murphy by calling the International Education Office number: 570-389-4199 or e-mail her at: dmurphy@bloomu.edu.
Before your appointment with Mrs. Murphy, please complete and bring with you a Study Abroad/Exchange Program Interest Form.During your appointment, you will discuss:
- Geographic region/country of interest
- Program or major of interest
- Term to begin study abroad program
- Possible additional concerns and questions
- Apply for admission. Submit an exchange programs proposal in the format required by the department to the exchange faculty.
- Research cost, housing arrangements, and travel plans. Please note: Financial aid will not be paid earlier than the scheduled disbursement date. If payment is required prior to this date, it is the student¨s responsibility to work with the host institution to make payment arrangements.
- Once accepted, complete and provide the following forms to the International Education Office:
- Study Abroad & International Exchange Programs Scheduling and Registration Form
- Financial Aid Study Abroad Program Cost Form; please return the form to the International Education Office for required signature. The approved form will then be forwarded to the Financial Aid Office.
- Acceptance letter from the host institution. If student does not have one, then the student needs to obtain one.
