48.476 Principles of Behavior Modification

Description: Studies the application of learning principles to change behavior in both individual and group settings. (3 semester hours credit)

Prerequisites: Minimum grade of C in 48.101 General Psychology; Minimum grade of C in 48.160 Basic Statistics, and completion of

48.281 Experimental Psychology: Methodology

Generally offered: Spring and Summer semesters

Additional Information: Behavior Modification is dual listed as an undergraduate class (48.476) and as a graduate class (48.577). Undergraduate and graduate students take the course at the same time. Graduate students are required to complete an additional term paper. This course is recommended for individuals who will be working with people to modify their behavior. This might include teachers and therapists, and those working with the developmentally disabled, autistics, or patients in mental hospitals.

This course can be used to meet the requirements for a Psychology Major or Psychology Minor, and can fill a General Education requirement.
