PLEASE INITIATE THIS PROCESS AFTER YOU HAVE RECEIVED IRB APPROVAL

PLEASE INITIATE THIS PROCESS AT LEAST A WEEK BEFORE YOU WISH TO COLLECT THE DATA

Survey Research

Meet with the professor(s) of the class(es) from which you wish to recruit participants.

Bring a copy of your survey and the letter indicating you have IRB approval.

You and the professor will decide all of the following:

How and when you will distribute the survey

How you will arrange for the delivery of the survey to class and the pick-up of extra surveys from class

Who will explain the purpose of the experiment to the Gen Psy class before the survey is distributed

How the professor will be provided with names of participants

On the bottom of consent forms, please include the following

A place for students to print their name and the course for which they receive extra credit

The room where surveys are to be returned (this should be in very large print)

The deadline for return of surveys

Please Note: you will have the greatest response if surveys are distributed immediately after exams.

Non-Survey Research

Meet with the professor(s) of the class(es) from which you wish to recruit participants.

Bring a description of the study and the letter indicating you have IRB approval.

You and the professor will decide all of the following:

How participants will be recruited, for example, are sign-up sheets necessary.

If sign-up sheets are necessary, the following will be discussed

Information to be included on sign-up sheets, such as:

Name of study, time of study, meeting room for study, etc.

Where sign up sheets will be posted

How long sign up sheets will remain posted

Who will explain the purpose of the experiment to the Gen Psy class before students volunteer

How you will keep Gen Psy students informed of (or reminded of) where and when to go for the study

How the professor will be provided with names of participants
