Welcome to The Office of Student Standards Website |
The Office of Student Standards is a unique and dynamic department committed to providing the very best in service to Bloomsburg University students, staff and faculty as well as community members. This Office exists to serve all members of the Bloomsburg University community - resident students, town students, continuing adult learners, commuter students, faculty, staff and so forth. |
Understanding Student Standards |
We are the University equivalent of a high school principal, vice-principal or Dean of Students. Our primary responsibility is enforcement of the Student Code of Conduct. We also provide resources and services for off-campus housing and commuter students. At the Office of Student Standards, we pride ourselves as being a resource for all students. Please feel free to stop in and ask any questions you have! |

REMINDER:
Alcohol Emergency Immunity
("Good Samaritan") Law
To protect the life and health of young people, the state of Pennsylvania has an alcohol emergency amnesty law ("Good Samaritan" law).
The alcohol amnesty law provides
"immunity from prosecution for a person under the age of 21 for the possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages if law enforcement, including campus safety police, became aware of the possession or consumption solely because the individual was seeking medical assistance for someone else. The person seeking the assistance must reasonably believe he or she is the first to call for assistance, must use his own name with authorities, and must stay with the individual needing medical assistance until help arrives."
