Legal Advice...

Lately a lawyer from Wilkes-Barre has been mailing students who have received Underage Consumption/Possession/Transportation citations.  Citations are public record.  Soliciting to a student’s home address is legal.  However, there has been confusion regarding whether or not the documents being sent home are official documents from Bloomsburg University.  Anything mailed home that does not include official Bloomsburg University letterhead is not from the school. 

We highly recommend you discuss incidents involving summary citations with the Dean of Students Office or the campus attorney, David Trathen (available for free consultation in KUB Fridays from 4pm-6pm), prior to hiring a lawyer.
