Programming

Introduction

The Office of Student Standards offers a number of programs for a variety of audiences. Additionally, if you are interested in developing a new program, or recognize a particular need, please contact Donald Young for assistance. Mr. Bauman is available for resident advisors who wish to hold programs on their wings or within building common areas.

Programs described below are also available for organizations; if you would like to schedule one of these - or design one specifically for your group - please contact us.

Choices and Decision Making Program

This is an interactive, group discussion type program designed specifically for students on a University sanction. Students participating in this program must come prepared to interact. The overall purpose of the program is to communicate with your peers on a variety of college/decision related issues and, in so doing, learn about factors that influence your own decision making. A brief, written reflection is collected from each student at the end of the program.

Fire Safety Program

This program is designed specifically for a variety of students including those who were confronted and/or cited in the Town for disabling smoke detectors or other related housing code violations. Students in the residence halls may be assigned this program in certain situations, such as a violations of our non-smoking policy. The overall intent of the program is to educate and inform students about fire safety measures; a video is used and a discussion/presentation runs throughout the program. This program is done in cooperation with the University Police department.
