Bloomsburg University
Army ROTC

Bloomsburg University Army ROTC is a four-year program divided into the basic course (freshman and sophomore years) and the advanced course (junior and senior years).  Upon graduation from BU and completion of the Army ROTC program, students receive a commission as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army, Army Reserve, or Army National Guard.  BU Army ROTC educates, trains, and develops cadets to prepare them for successful service as Commissioned Officers and has done so since 1976.  Over 30 years after its inception, BU Army ROTC continues the strong tradition of equipping cadets with the tools necessary for success as Army Officers and productive members of society.
Bloomsburg University Army ROTC is based on campus in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania and is a member of the Bucknell University Army ROTC program.  The former joins three other schools, Lycoming College, Pennsylvania College of Technology, and Susquehanna University, in comprising the 5-school Bison Battalion based at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
BU Army ROTC works in conjunction with its host school, Bucknell, to develop cadets into confident, competent, and disciplined leaders of character.  Bloomsburg cadets participate in activities at Bloomsburg and Bucknell Universities (and surrounding areas), as well as Fort Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania, Fort Knox, Kentucky and Fort Lewis, Washington.
BU Army ROTC focuses primarily on leadership training and developing the necessary values, attributes, skills, and actions within cadets to make them effective Army Officers.  The BU Army ROTC curriculum consists of three elements: Academic, Military, and Physical.
