SSS
Scholarships Available

The Department of Education in Washington has made available over $30,000 for tuition grants to BU Student Support Services students in previous years. In each of the past four years, 22 to 34 students were able to take advantage of this opportunity, and grants awarded ranged from $400 to about $1000. Eligible students must be active SSS participants in their first two years of college and must be a Pell grant recipient.

The federal government has established eligibility requirements for these scholarship grants. Eligible students are Pell (federal financial aid) recipients who have earned 49 or less credits. No student may receive a grant if it would replace other grant aid already committed to that student. Scholarship amounts were determined by the recipients' financial aid need and award packages.

Many students who are eligible for awards do not submit an application, even after receiving a reminder notice from SSS. These grants are a great benefit to students in the program, and we would like as many students as possible to take advantage of the opportunity. For minimal effort you can receive a generous scholarship grant – these funds minimize educational debt incurred during your undergraduate experience. SSS will continue to encourage all eligible students to apply for these scholarship funds.
